The islands of Vanuatu are legendary for thier highly effective kava kava cultivars. Our new 'Waka Grade' Kava Kava (Piper methysticum) root powders are made with only the finest lateral root material grown and harvested from 5-10 year old plants from the South Pacific islands of Vanuatu in the traditional manner, without the use of pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers.
Lateral roots have long been coveted for their exceptional potency and typically have twice the amount of kavalactones. This kava has a very peppery smell to it as well as a peppery taste. The color of these kava powders are quite dark and produce a beverage that is dark in color as well.

Micronization also gives the advantage of increasing the total amount of kavalactones released from the root fiber, creating a more potent kava preparation than with other coarsely ground kava products.
